The LinesTool Editorial Team

The LinesTool Editorial Team is the in-house group responsible for LinesTool, a code line counter. Articles are written and kept current by the people who also test the tool.

Expect writing about Code Metrics and little else. Since it counts total, code, comment and blank lines across more than forty languages, per file and per language, with CSV export, most pieces follow the same path through the numbers: estimating the size of a codebase, comparing code against comment density and producing a line-count table for a report.

Articles are reviewed for two failure modes: a method that does not reproduce, and phrasing that could be taken as advice. Topics that drift into regulated territory stay on the numeric side, with a pointer to a qualified professional.

Write to support@linestool.com with anything that does not look right. Confirmed corrections are applied to the article itself.
